Since 2000, Karl Nicholson and his father Graham have combined specialist building knowledge with a passion for design to offer an end-to-end building service.

K Design and Build offers bespoke design, renovation, refit and build services in order to optimise the look and functionality of your space. By offering best-practice advice, Karl broadens his clients' views on what can be achieved, pinpointing important details which make all the difference. K Design and Build maintains strong links with other trades, architects and structural engineers.

Karl Nicholson:

Karl gained his NVQ Level 3 in Advanced Craft (carpentry and joinery) before working onsite for all of the major building and property developers in the UK. After gaining invaluable experience and developing the skills demanded by major new-build projects, he set up K Design and Build. Whilst at college, Karl was awarded Bronze at the National Skills Competition (and was shortlisted to attend the skill Olympics) for geometrical roofing. The contest is the largest international vocational skills competition in the world. Carpentry and joinery remain Karl's passion and this is evident in the superior craftsmanship of his work.

Graham Nicholson:

Graham is trained as a plasterer and has worked on large-scale public sector projects, including refurbishment work within prisons. He brings extensive project-management experience to every job he works on.

All our tools are fit for purpose, insured, maintained and PAT-tested. Our Health and Safety policies and company policy are regularly updated in line with industry regulations. We are fully insured for public liability (to £5m). We hold Work Safe certification which allows us to work on large property development, government-run and council-run projects.
